Parent Resource Center

CHESTNUT LOG PARENT RESOURCE CENTER

Welcome Parents!

Chestnut Log Middle is happy to provide a resource center just for parents. Our goal is to help parents understand what their children are learning so that they are better able to help their children at home with homework and projects. We know that parent involvement makes all the difference in the success of our students. The Title I Parent Resource Center offers materials and resource that parents may borrow. We offer books on various subjects, parenting, discipline, and to how to help your child with homework to name a few.

Our Parent Resource Center is open on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 in room 407. Please drop in or call 770-651-5180 to make an appointment.

We look forward to your visit!

 Parent Workshops

Chestnut Log Middle School will hold workshops on different topics that will focus on the needs of our parents and children.  All of our workshops will be advertised through flyers, the school marque, parent email blast, the morning/afternoon announcement, and automated phone calls.  Please scroll down to the bottom of this page to see a list of workshops and dates and times for the 2017-2018 year.

Parent Advisory Council

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is made up of parent representatives from each grade level, the principal, a teacher, and the parent outreach facilitator.  The PAC meets at least three times a year and gives input and direction for the Title I program including the school compact, the school policy for parent involvement, the LEA policy for parent involvement, and the parent workshops.  ALL parents at CLMS are invited and encouraged to attend and all PAC meetings.  The meetings will be advertised on the school website, parent email blast, morning/afternoon announcements, on signage, and through flyers.  The dates for the PAC meetings for 2017-2018 are listed below.  Please note that dates and times are subject to change.
